Double ended | RX7 ends/base
Halide lamps are required as the best source of artificial sunlight which most accurately and efficiently replicates natural sunlight conditions giving the natural ingredients for a healthy tank.
Halides are a compact source of light which emit the high output light from a single focus point just like the natural sun itself, thus successfully reproduces the natural ripple effect of sunlight.
This rippling effect isn’t possible with t5 lighting as the light is coming from a more spread source.
Corals will appear more vibrant than the lower Kelvin bulbs due to the limited red in the spectrum
Not only is it necessary for growth, also make a more enjoyable viewing pleasure. Why Halides ?
The ideal depth of tank that you should use 70w halides with is a maximum of 18inches. If your tank is any deeper than this you should consider increasing to 150w for deeper penetration. 70w Halides are ideal for use on a nano reef aquarium.
Ideally you would use an Actinic or Blue Plus fluorescent tube alongside this tube to reduce the yellow hue given from a halide with this colour temperature.

- Great quality and great price – Review by Jasper (Posted on 21/05/2012)
- Hi there, Just wanted to say how pleased I am with these bulbs, they are half the price of other brands but perform just as well.My coral growth has dramatically improved. I supplemented the 10k with two blue+ t5's and have the look I've been after for a while. I will definitely be using iQuatics again in the future.

Could you advise which light to use on an aqua reef 200 .10000k or 14000k I only have softies. I don’t mind a white light, I like blue. I don’t like to see a yellow shade?
Posted byon Tuesday, 27 September 2011If you don’t like a yellow shade, I would recommend you compensate the white tubes with a blue plus tube for added penetration. Either of the 10k or 14k will be ideal for your setup.
