iQuatics Ocean Reef Pro Coral Salt

iQuatics Ocean Reef Pro coral salt has been developed using the latest in synthetic salt technology to bring you this high quality salt mix.
Designed to replicate natural sea water as closely as possible, iQuatics Ocean Reef coral salt offers the perfect balance of major, minor and trace elements to encourage your reef system to flourish.

With slightly raised levels of major elements, which are usually quickly depleted in a closed loop system, the salt reduces the need to dose these additional elements. Using iQuatics salt as part of your regular water change routine will help you achieve your goals of a happy, healthy and flourishing reef environment.
iQuatics Ocean Reef Pro is suitable for all salt water aquariums including LPS & SPS.

Why Ocean Reef Coral Pro Aquarium Salt?
With so many salts on the market, why have you made a great decision in using Ocean Reef Coral Pro? It’s simple really; we have specifically formulated this salt to give you a mix that is as close to natural sea water as possible, after all what is better for your marine tank than a salt mix that replicates the conditions your livestock would thrive in, in their natural environment.
What have we done differently?
Rather than just take an “off the shelf” blend and stick a label on it, we have spent many hours researching and speaking with experts about the ideal composition for this salt. We have worked closely with Marine Biologists and Ocean Chemists to get things just right, but most importantly we have listened to our customers. We have seen that you want a high quality mix, at a reasonable price, something that is quick mixing and reduces the amount of elements that need to be dosed on top of the water change regime.
Natural Sea Water, what exactly is it?
On average seawater in the world’s oceans has a salinity of around 3.5%. This means that roughly every litre of seawater contains approximately 35 grams of dissolved salts, these are mostly made up of Sodium (Na) and Chloride (Cl). Although the vast majority of seawater has a salinity of between 3.1% – 3,8%, seawater salinity varies throughout the oceans.
How does OceanReef Coral Pro Aquarium Salt Compare?
We have designed this salt to replicate that of natural sea water as closely as possible, with a few exceptions.  In the vast oceans minerals contained within the water are readily available and there is no real danger of them becoming depleted. This is a different story in a closed loop system (your aquarium) where the only fresh water added is that by you during a water change. Many of the corals and critters we keep in our reef tanks depend on these elements to not only survive but to flourish, therefore major, minor and trace elements become quickly depleted in your home aquarium as the corals and inverts use them to grow. We have therefore slightly raised the elements that are quickly depleted to reduce the need for you to dose additional elements, with regular water changes (we recommend 10% weekly) you will see a reduction in the amount of additives you need to use to keep your elemental levels in shape.
